What You Need to Know before Starting an Anti-Aging Cream?

Aging is inevitable. It’s a fact of life that we all have to live with and accept, but it doesn’t mean you can’t do something about the way your skin looks as you get older. If you want to reduce wrinkles, improve your skin elasticity, and make your skin tone more even than you need to use anti-aging products like facial moisturizer, eye cream and serum that will help keep your skin young and fresh! Here are few things you should know before starting on an anti-aging face cream:

Active and Inactive Ingredients

Active and Inactive Ingredients

Inspect the ingredient list on the label as this will tell you how potent an anti-aging cream really is. Ideally, it should have high amounts of active ingredients and minimal amounts of inactive ingredients. For example, if you see something like “water” or “ethyl alcohol” among the first three ingredients that means there are more than likely high amounts of water and other inactive ingredients in proportion to what actually does something for your skin?

Potency

Look for products with at least 0.5% concentration of hyaluronic acid (HA). HA is one of the main active therapeutically active ingredients used in anti-aging creams because it helps fill up fine lines and wrinkles on your face by plumping them up from within to make them appear smoother! If you can manage 1%, even better! But look for products with less than 50% water content and 70-80% HA.

Natural Exfoliating Agents

Look for products that contain natural ingredients like: alpha hydroxy acids (AHA), beta hydroxy acid (BHA), enzymes and even micro-crystals that can gently exfoliate the top layer of dead skin cells to reveal a glowing, radiant complexion underneath!

The Anti-Wrinkle Factor

Make sure your anti-aging face cream has retinol or retinal palmitate as an ingredient which helps repair sun damaged skin with new collagen fibers by stimulating the body’s own production of these fibers within its dermis layers when applied consistently on a regular basis.

Moisturizing Factor

Hyaluronic Acid retains moisture which makes it an excellent ingredient in anti-aging creams because it plumps up fine lines and wrinkles. Coconut Oil contains lauric acid which increases collagen production within the body, keeping skin tight and healthy looking.

There are several ingredients that are important for fighting the signs of aging like hyaluronic acid, vitamin C complex (which actually helps produce new collagen fibers) and Argon oil to name just a few!

Conclusion

There are many things that can go wrong if you don’t know what ingredients should be avoided or how they interact with other products, such as prescription medications and cosmetics.
